AIPEX is an international network of intellectual property law firms. As the Scandinavian partner in AIPEX, Håmsø Patentbyrå can provide streamlined management of IP portfolios for larger international companies.
The AIPEX Exchange program offers our employees a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in different cultures, meet experts from other countries, and exchange knowledge. This experience broadens our professional network and strengthens the global connections within the AIPEX community.
This time, it was our turn to host Mateusz, who visited us from Poland. We started the visit with coffee and delicious pastries on Monday morning. Mateusz also brought Polish plum snacks covered in chocolate – a tasty surprise that we all greatly appreciated!
During the week, Mateusz gained valuable insight into how we work at Håmsø. He was positively surprised by our weekly meetings, which he sees as an effective way to ensure transparency and keep track of ongoing matters. Throughout the visit, we had interesting discussions on professional topics, cultural differences, and of course, good food and drink.
Mateusz was curious about our workflow and wanted to learn more about how we handle daily tasks together. One important takeaway from his visit was Rob's approach to searches. He found the method useful and plans to apply it in his future work.
Regarding future collaboration opportunities, Mateusz sees potential in sharing study materials for young patent attorneys preparing for the EQE exams. He hopes this could become an exciting project for both AOMB Polska and Håmsø. Additionally, he would recommend that others participating in the program live in downtown Stavanger, as the city has a pleasant atmosphere and an easy commute to the office.
On Friday, Mateusz enjoyed an exciting tour of the Oil Museum, where he learned about the region’s historical significance in the oil industry. A highlight was the visit to the museum’s sonic cannon, where the loud sound nearly scared the life out of our dear HR manager, Hege.
We thank Mateusz for his visit and for a new and memorable acquaintance.
