Rob Valkass has joined Håmsø Patentbyrå as a trainee patent attorney

On August 1st this year, Rob Valkass joined us at Håmsø Patentbyrå. Before diving into his new responsibilities, he took some well-deserved time to explore Norway, enjoying a vacation in the stunning landscapes of Northern Norway. Since starting, Rob has already become involved in several cases, and we've gotten to know him as someone with a delightful sense of British humor.

Rob brings with him solid experience from his nearly eight years as a patent examiner at the UK Intellectual Property Office. There, he was responsible for examining applications across various technological fields, with specialization in business methods, blockchain, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and other computer-implemented inventions. In addition to his work on patent applications, he has also contributed to international collaborations for harmonizing regulations, quality improvement projects, and training.

Rob has a PhD in Physics from the University of Exeter, during which he worked in partnership with a global technology firm to understand and develop magnetic data storage devices and spintronic materials. Rob also holds a Post-graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the University of South Wales, for which he was awarded a distinction.

We are very pleased to welcome Rob to the team and look forward to all the contributions he will make in the future!
